Overview
There is no written DOB exam for Construction Superintendent — it is a DOB registration. To apply you need a DOB-approved 40-hour site safety course taken within 1 year before you apply, a valid SST Supervisor Card and one of the DOB experience pathways (for example, 3 years as a full-time project supervisor on NYC construction or demolition within the last 5 years). This 40-hour class is that DOB-approved site safety course: it covers NYC Building Code Chapter 33, site safety plans, the superintendent's daily duties and records, and walks you through the DOB NOW: Licensing application and documents.
