Overview
The F-89 Certificate of Fitness is for the Fire and Life Safety Director (FLSD) in NYC buildings that need a fire safety and emergency action plan, such as high-rise offices and hotels. To get it, candidates complete the 31-hour FLSD course at an FDNY-certified school, then pass the FDNY computer exams (N-85 and Z-89) and the on-site exam in the building. Only FDNY-certified schools may teach this course, so Trade Progress Center does not offer it yet. Coming soon. For the current rules, see the FDNY F-89 page and Notice of Examination.
Who It's For
Building managers, security directors, facility supervisors, emergency response team leaders, and individuals seeking to manage fire safety in large commercial or residential buildings.
